Mrs. Addie Mae Sellers, 98, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023. Born in Cheraw, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Arthur Farmer and Lucy Barfield Farmer. Addie Mae was a member of Cheraw First Baptist Church and was a member of the Friendship Sunday school class. Addie Mae had simple pleasures that brought her happiness. She would often sit on her porch, taking in the beauty of nature while enjoying those peaceful moments. Crossword puzzles were another favorite pastime that challenged her mind and allowed her to unwind. Most of all, Addie Mae loved her son and her grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them, finding fulfillment in nurturing their lives and witnessing their growth.
In addition to her parents, Addie Mae was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Thad Sellers; brother, Leslie Farmer; sister, Annie Townsend and daughter-in-law, Peggy Sellers.
She is survived by her son, James Sellers of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Luben Sellers (Hanna) of Cheraw, SC, Ashley Jacobs of Cheraw, SC, Richard Thomas of Patrick, SC; and great-grandchildren, Zhady Sellers, Roya Sellers, and Freya Jacobs.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Kiser Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Cheraw First Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
Burial will follow the service in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, South Carolina.
Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Sellers family during their time of grief.
