Adelia Pierce

Cheraw, SC

Adelia P. Pierce, 82, died Thursday, September 10, 2020. Born in Cheraw, SC, she was a daughter of the late Samuel McNeil and Janie Elizabeth Parker and the widow of Joe Pierce. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Cheraw where she had served as a Deacon, Elder, choir member for over 25 years, and a member of the Women of the Church and affectionately known as the “Kitchen Lady.” She was active with the American Cancer Society, receiving the First Lady Award for cookbook sales. Also, she volunteered in public education and at the First Presbyterian Church. She was an Honorary Life Member of Presbyterian Women. Mrs. Pierce was a dedicated nurse for 60 years, she enjoyed catering, and reading.

She is survived by a son, Richard (Libby) Pierce of Cheraw, SC, daughters, Debra (John) Mosley of Conway, SC and Norma (Tony) Knight of Cheraw, SC, grandchildren, Neil (Alicia) Grant, Elizabeth (Grady) Burton, Elaine (Jesse) Jones, Jackie Pierce, Parker Pierce, and great-grandchildren, Izzy Burton, Lily Burton, Noah Grant, Ian Grant, AJ Jones, and Victoria Jones.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 12, 2020 in the Parlor of First Presbyterian Church.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, Cheraw, SC.

Burial will follow in Old St. Davids Cemetery.
