Wallace, SC

Mrs. Betty Griggs English, 83, died on Sunday, January 16, 2022.  Born, June 24, 1938, in Marlboro County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Julia Leviner Griggs.  Betty was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Wallace, SC, and a charter member of the Wallace Rescue Squad where she was a certified EMT.  She loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed cooking, canning, and reading.  Betty also loved going to her 57-year standing Wednesday hair appointment.

Along with her parents, listed above, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Zeb Wilson English; a daughter, Gaynell Coates; a son, Randy English; a grandson, Jeffrey Polson; and 12 brothers and sisters.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Andy (Hope) English of Cheraw, SC, Frankie English of Wallace, SC, and Brittany (Mandy) English of Bennettsville, SC; a daughter, Elaine (Tony) Creech of Wallace, SC; a brother, Edwin Griggs of Wallace, SC 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw, SC.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wallace, SC.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. just prior to the service on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw, SC.
