Carroll L. Freeman

July 2, 1940 – May 22, 2021

Mr. Freeman, 80, of Society Hill, SC, passed away at his residence on May 22, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.

He was a construction worker by trade but tinkered with carpentry, auto mechanics and maintenance throughout the years.  He was a “jack of all trades” and could “work” on just about anything.

He was a simple man with a heart of gold, full of joy and laughter and the best story-teller ever made.  He was surely sent here to make someone smile. Children loved him because they saw his heart first.  His eyes sparkled and he loved to sing (country music only for this man).  His favorite things included cooking, Nascar, watching football, being outdoors, animals of all kinds, riding with the windows down, and entertaining everyone he knew.  He loved his family and they loved him.  And he loved that he was going to Heaven one day.

Carroll leaves many behind to cherish his memory.  Surviving are his two children, a son, David “Bo” Freemen (Kim) of Cassellberry, Fl and a daughter, Julie Keith (Jay) of Camden, SC; three grandchildren: John Freeman, Will Keith and Amber Andrews (Chris); one great-grandchild: Christopher Andrews; one brother, Delmas Freeman (Vonzeal); two sisters, Linda Howle (Cecil) and Faye Howle; Best Friend/Honorary Brother: Buddy Cole; a host of nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of the home, Betty “Billie” Freeman; a son, Carroll Eugene “Gene” Freeman; Parents: Allen and Della Edwards Freeman; Brothers: Buck, Tom, Ray, Clarence (Weazer) and Ronnie; Sisters: Hallie, June, Darce and Nancy.

A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Kiser Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. just prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
