Cecil Hewitt Haney

 Mr. Cecil Hewitt Haney, age 79, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Cecil was born on December 31, 1944, in Chesterfield County. Cecil was an honest man who worked hard and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He worked as an equipment operator for the South Carolina Forestry and managed grocery stores until he retired. Cecil had a great sense of humor and wit always bringing a smile to those around him. Above all, Cecil cherished his family. He took great joy in being a devoted “Grandpa” to his many grandchildren. He was often seen alongside his beloved wife, Nancy, and their son, Jason. Those three were “thick as thieves”. The bond they shared was strong, and they treasured every moment spent together.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy King Haney and son, Jason Haney, both of the home; his daughters, Teresa Ammons (Frankie) of Cheraw, SC, Darline Knight (Glenn) of Como, Mississippi; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. 

Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Haney family.
