Charles “Charlie” P. Rose

Cheraw, SC

Charles “Charlie” Payne Rose, 70, died Thursday, October 22, 2020. Born in Clifton Forge, VA, he was the son of the late Leo Hoover and Violet Smith Rose, and brother of the late Ressie Lou Rose. Charlie was a retired Battalion Chief of Fairfax County Fire-Rescue Department (VA) with 28 years of service. He also served as a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church. Charlie enjoyed spending time with his friends & family, eating great food, traveling and collecting antiques.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Batten Rose of the home, a daughter, Mary Ann Rose (James Benny Shaw III) son in law, of Raleigh, NC and a granddaughter, Harper Rose Shaw.

He was preceded in death by a son, SSGT (USMC) David C. Rose.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church, Cheraw, SC.

The family will receive friends following the service.
