Donald Chapman

Donald Otis Chapman, age 77, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024. He was born in Perry, GA, to the late Norlis Clinton and Mary Linton Chapman. Don was a passionate history buff and genealogy enthusiast, a testament to his love for understanding the past. He was a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Affectionately known as “Frosty” and “Don the Juan” by friends and family, he cherished the moments spent with loved ones. Don enjoyed golfing and relished in the company of friends and family, always looking for opportunities to create lasting memories. Don was a man that never met a stranger.

He is survived by his son, Clint (Tammy) Chapman of Charleston, SC, along with “Son #2,” Steve Roberts of Charleston, SC. Don is also survived by his sisters, Diane Rider and Debra (Ted) Griffin, both of Perry, GA, and his beloved grandchildren, Alex, Ben, and Tyler. He was also deeply loved by his nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, and cousins. The Byrd family, in South Carolina, held a close place in Don’s heart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant triplet sister, Denise Emmie Chapman and brother-in-law, Boyd Rider.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on January 11, 2025 in Evergreen Cemetery, Perry GA, allowing family and friends to remember and celebrate Don’s life and the joy he brought to those around him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Society Hill, SC at a later date.
