Frances Blinkhorn

Cheraw, SC

Frances was born in Woonsocket, RI on February 14, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Gertrude Basquin. She graduated from Woonsocket High School, completed her nursing training at Rhode Island Hospital, and worked as a registered nurse until her retirement. She married Richard John Blinkhorn in 1954 and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and was the “go to” person for calling everyone in the church for events and volunteers. She was a devoted member of the Women’s Club of St. Peters Catholic Church. Frances enjoyed reading, listening to music, volunteering in her community, and caring for animals, (especially her beloved cat, Toby). She especially cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren on annual vacations at Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina.

Surviving is her   sister, Sylvia (Frank) Jakubowicz, her husband of 65 years, Richard J. Blinkhorn, Sr. of the home, sons, Richard (Maria) Blinkhorn, Jr., Charles (Olivia) Blinkhorn, Robert (Debbie) Blinkhorn, David (Karen) Blinkhorn, daughters, Jayne Ross, Elaine (Ron) Cupp, grandchildren, David Crawford, Kathryn Ross, Andrea Blinkhorn, Kyle Blinkhorn, Ryan Blinkhorn, Chris (Rachel) Blinkhorn, John Blinkhorn, Grady Blinkhorn, Robert (Ramey) Mitchell, Eric (Nicole) Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Chloe Logan, Heather Cupp, Ashley (Kipper) Overstreet, Dakota Bryant, Ashley Buffington, Garrett Blinkhorn, and Alex Blinkhorn, great- grandchildren, Thomas Crawford, Caroline Blinkhorn, Reagan Blinkhorn, and Harper Overstreet

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above.

A rosary service will be held 5:30 PM Friday, July 19, 2019 at Kiser Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 8:00 PM.

The mass service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2019 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Cheraw, SC. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Catholic section of Old St. David's Cemetery.

The pallbearers serving are Garrett Blinkhorn, Alex Blinkhorn, Kyle Blinkhorn, Ryan Blinkhorn, Chris Blinkhorn, John Blinkhorn, Grady Blinkhorn, and David Crawford.
