Geneva "Nene" McDougald McGilvray

Geneva “Nene” McDougald McGilvray, 94, died Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

Born, July 13, 1928, in Rockingham, NC, she was a daughter of the late Clyde D. “CD” and Sarah F. Rainwater McDougald. She was a member of Cheraw First Baptist Church where she had served in the sanctuary choir, the Henrietta Isgett Sunday School Class, Finance Committee, and the WMU.  She retired from APAC as an accountant controller.

Along with her parents, listed above, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. “Ben” McGilvray; a son, Michael Gene McGilvray; brothers, Richard E. McDougald, Gene C. McDougald, and Boyce A. McDougald; a sister, Sara M. Stanton.

Mrs. McGilvray leaves behind to cherish her memory, a son, James C. “Jimmy” McGilvray (Nancy) of Moultrie, GA; sisters, Laura A. Haley (Charles) of Florence, SC, and Sue F. Lee of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Amy M. DeWeese (Keith) of Annapolis, MD, Eric J. McGilvray (Becky) of Atlanta, GA, and Jena E. Willis (Hayden) of Moultrie, GA; great-grandchildren, Molly S. McGilvray, James P. McGilvray, Benjamin DeWeese, Merritt Willis, and Tristan Willis.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens in Cheraw, SC. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m., on Sunday, October 23, 2022, prior to the service at Kiser Funeral Home.
