George Albert Keith

Cheraw, SC

George Albert Keith, 84, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025. Born in Society Hill, SC, he was the beloved son of the late Daisy Brazell and Julius Keith.

Albert was a devoted member of Cheraw First Baptist Church, where he actively participated as a greeter, trustee, and member of the VIPs and Friendship Sunday School Class. He cherished spending quality time with his family, indulging in fishing, playing golf, and enjoying game days with friends. An avid supporter of the Gamecocks, Albert was also known for his skills as an expert handyman.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 62 years, Mary Ruth Keith; a daughter, Teresa (Mitch) Harpe of Cheraw, SC; a son, Brad (August) Keith of Charleston, SC; a brother, William “Billy” J. (Connie) Keith of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren Georgia (David) Hamrick, Victoria (Bailey) Polson, Jacob Keith, Reagan Keith, and Blake Hickey; and a great-grandson, Mitchell Webb Hamrick.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Billy Ervin “Tooney” Keith and Tex H. Keith, and sisters Beatrice Bradshaw and Sally Hanson.

His legacy of kindness and devotion to family and community will always be remembered. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, SC.
