George Lane, 91, died Wednesday, September 2, 2020. Born in Marion County he was a son of the late Joseph William and Margaret Ellen Taylor Lane. He was the widower of Helen Lane. He was a member of the Cheraw Church of God and the Over 50 Club. He enjoyed going to church. He was a member and donor to the Waccamaw Boys Home. He enjoyed collecting coins and antiques. He loved being a Grandpa. He loved traveling to the beach with his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa.

Surviving are his sons, Cecil (Sharon) Lane of Calabash, NC, Richard (Denise) Lane of Columbia, SC, Keith (Sherry) Lane of Cheraw, SC, a sister, Rosie Ard of Cheraw, SC, grandchildren, Mitchell Lane, Chris (Angela) Lane, Dee Dee (Russell) Miller, Summer (Randall) Coleman, Laura (Eric) Drummond, John (Reene) Lane, Jessica (Tommy Atkinson) Gibson, Ray (Allison) Lane, Elizabeth (Anthony) Gloster, Joshua Lane, Caleb Lane, Charlie Lane, Aaron Lane, Bruce Dale Lane, Jewell Lane, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife listed above, also, sons, Glenn Lane, Bobby Lane, Steve Lane, brothers, Woodrow Lane, Hampton Lane and WJ Lane.

The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 4, 2020 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Cheraw Church of God, Cheraw, SC. Burial will be in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.
