Helen Burr Melton, 72, died Monday, January 2, 2017. Born in Chesterfield County, SC, she was a daughter of the late George W. Burr and Rillie Burr Gulledge.  She was the widow of Jack Melton. She enjoyed reading (murder mystery books), flowers and planting a garden. She was a great cook and made homemade cakes and the best biscuits ever.

Surviving is her daughter, Ann Butler Parker of Wallace, SC, grandchildren, Chris Robinson, Carrie Robinson Wilson and Aaron Melton, two great grandchildren, a sister, Brenda Burr Modlin of Myrtle Beach, SC and a brother Grady Burr of Concord, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents listed above, a son, Michael Melton, and brothers Avery Burr, Kenneth Burr, Donnie Burr, LJ Burr, and Pete Atkinson.

The family will receive friends 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Friday, January 6, 2017 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, January 6, 2017 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.
