Mr. James “Jim” William Warner, 75, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025. He was born on May 25, 1949, in Troy, NC, to the late James Pete and Betty Lemons Warner.
Mr. Warner proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he was stationed aboard the USS Newport News during the Vietnam War. His service was marked by numerous commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Navy Unit Commendation, the Navy Meritorious Commendation, and the Battle Efficiency “E” Award. Beyond his military achievements, James was a devoted fan of the Gamecocks and enjoyed NASCAR racing.
Jim is survived by his son, Chad William Warner of Sioux Falls, SD; daughters Deidra Heath Hill (Clayton) of Prosperity, SC, and Kisha Moore of Jacksonville, NC; brothers Edwin Warner of Palm Beach, FL, and Barney Warner of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister Sara Byers of Mocksville, NC; as well as five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later time. The Warner family has entrusted Kiser Funeral Home with their arrangements during this difficult time.
The family welcomes donations, in lieu of flowers, to be made in Jim’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka Kansas, 66675-8516.
