Mrs. Jane Howle Mayhew, 77, died on Monday, February 8, 2021.Born, November 27, 1943 in Darlington, SC, she was a daughter of the late J. Adger Howle, Sr. and Janie Jackson Howle.  Mrs. Mayhew was in the class of 1961  of St. John’s High School in Darlington, SC and she also graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1995 at the age of 52 from Coker College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Operations Management.

Mrs. Jane was a member of the First United Methodist Church Cheraw, SC where she was in the Women’s Circle. She was also a member of the Couples Club.  She worked at Highland Industries as a Product Development Designer Supervisor.  Jane enjoyed ancestry research, cooking, especially for the semi-annual BBQ where she made the cornbread and bake sale items.  She also enjoyed playing games and Facebook.  Jane also loved spending time with her family.

Along with her parents listed above, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 47 years, R.E. Mayhew, Jr.; a stepson, Jackie Mayhew; brothers, J. Adger (Tootsie) Howle, Jr., and Walter Wilcox (JoAnne) Howle;a sister, Virginia H. (Marshall) Coleman; and a step-granddaughter, Rebecca Mayhew Cassidy

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Mayhew (Michelle Meteraud) of Charleston, SC; a stepdaughter, Joan Mayhew Easterling of Cheraw, SC; a step-granddaughter, Crystal Mayhew McQuage (Jason); and one step-great-grandchild, Jonathan Cassidy.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens in Cheraw, SC.
