J. Herbert Foster

J. Herbert Foster, 84, died Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at his home.

Born in Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late James J. and Lucy Zimmerman Foster. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Cheraw, SC. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Foster was retired as City Executive with Carolina Bank of Cheraw, SC. He was the former Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Chesterfield General Hospital and a former board member of the Chesterfield County Board of Disabilities.

Surviving is his wife Mabel Coggins Foster of the home and a son, Jeffrey Lee Foster of the Home.

A funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 28, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, Cheraw, SC with Dr. Kurt McPherson, Rev. Ed Davidson and Rev. David Townsend officiating. A private family burial will follow on Saturday.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, November 28, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, Cheraw, SC.
