Leroy Cheek

Leroy Manton (Buddy) Cheek, 87, died Monday, March 16, 2020. Born in McColl, SC he was the son of the late Colon Lester and Beatrice Hill Cheek. He was the husband of the late Hazel Loise Wiggins Cheek. Leroy was a long-time member of Phill’s Creek Hunting Club and loved hunting, fishing and farming.

Mr. Cheek is survived by his son Leroy M. (Peggy) Cheek, Jr. of Wallace, SC, daughters Deborah Dixon of Patrick, SC, Agenia (Ross) Quick of Benettsville, SC, and Hazel (Robert) Edwards of Wallace, SC, brothers George Franklyn Cheek of McColl, SC and Colon Lester Cheek, Jr. of McColl, SC, and a sister, Brenda McLucas of Laurinburg, NC, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife listed above, daughters Phyllis Anne Butler, Jeanine "Vickie" Smith, brother Billy Wade Cheek, sisters Shelby Turner, and Ruby Roller.

The family will receive friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Cheraw Church of God, Cheraw, SC.

Burial will be in the Rose Lawn Cemetery, McColl, SC following the funeral service.
