Margaret L. Purvis Scott, 86, of Wallace, SC, died Monday, March 22, 2021. Born, May 31, 1934 in Marlboro County, Mrs. Scott was a daughter of the late Johnnie and Hattie Stafford Purvis and wife of the late Jack Scott, Sr. She liked reading, antiques, gardening, sewing and loved her family.

She is survived by her sons Jack J. (Crystal) Scott of Cheraw, SC, Colby Jack, a grandson who was raised as a son, (Elizabeth) Scott of Jefferson, SC, daughters Virginia Gail Hooks of Cheraw, SC, Betty Jean (Gary) Hawthorne of Winter Haven, FL, Kathy Lynn Gatlin of Garland, TX, 16 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above and brothers, Perry Purvis, James Purvis, sisters Annie Gibson, Sarah Gibson, Nezzie Bolen, Ruth Barfield, Barbara Scott, Jackie Anderson, and Cynthia Scott.

The family will receive friends 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Kiser Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.
