Mary Joan Ball, age 85, peacefully passed away on January 8, 2025. She was born in Homestead, FL, to the late Arthur Carl and Myrtle Lowther Gosnell.

Joan had a vibrant career, owning several restaurants and a trucking company, where she was not afraid to get behind the wheel and haul a load herself. Her entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by her passion for life outside of work; she enjoyed painting and had a love for travel, especially cruising to new destinations. Above all, Joan cherished her family and found joy in spending quality time with them.

She is survived by her beloved sons: Ricky (Denise) Ball of Middleburg, FL, Randy (Judy) Ball of Erin, TN, Tamier Ball of Orangeburg, SC, and Duane Tarrant of Orangeburg, SC. Additionally, she leaves behind her daughter, Cindi (David) Wallace of Cheraw, SC, her sister, Lois Thelander of Brooksville, FL, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Joan is now reunited in spirit with her late husband, Arthur Paul Ball, as well as her parents and siblings: Dwight, Wyeth, Noel, and Gene Gosnell, along with her sisters, Ruth Robinson and Helen Dhooge.

Mary Joan Ball will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM til 12:00 Noon at Kiser Funeral Home.

A funeral service will follow at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Kiser Funeral Home. Burial will be in Turbeville Southern Methodist Church Cemetery, Turbeville, SC on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
