Minnie M. Chavis, 69, died Monday, February 1, 2021.  Born in Bennettsville, SC she was the daughter of Franklin and Florrie Neta Jackson Thomas.

She was a seamstress with B.C. Moores Company and enjoyed reading, sewing, and puzzle games.  Above all Minnie was a loving mama and grandma, who loved spending time with her family.

Along with her parents, listed above, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Simon Thomas, Enos Thomas, and Timmy Thomas.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Alexander Chavis; daughters, Amanda Steen and Samantha Clark (George Everette Bailey) both of Bennettsville, SC; sisters, Dorothy Mabe of Bennettsville, SC, Nita Wright of Bennettsville, SC, Nancie Chewning of Cheraw, SC and Libbie Webb of Bennettsville, SC; grandchildren, Miranda Steen (Lorina) of Bennettsville, SC, Michelle Wilson (Brandon) of Society Hill, SC, Michael Chavis (Angie) of Jefferson, SC, Noah Cooper Clark of Bennettsville, SC and Julia Deaton of Bennettsville, SC; and great-grandchildren, Bradley Steen of Society Hill, SC, Kaleb Chavis of Chesterfield, SC and Gabriel Chavis of Chesterfield, SC.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery in Bennettsville, SC.

The family will receive friends following the service at the Cemetery and at other times at the home.
