Mitchell "Mickey" Thomas Gathings

Mitchell “Mickey” Thomas Gathings, 71, died on Saturday, January 20, 2024.  Born, June 22, 1952, in Rockingham, NC, he was a son of the late Daniel Gathings and Ruby Blackmon Edwards.  Mickey was a proud faithful member of Faith Fellowship Church in Wallace, SC.

Along with his parents, listed above, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 28 years, Vivian Gathings; step mother, Doris Gathings; and step father, Rodney Edwards.

Mickey leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Amy Rainwater (Joe) of Wallace, SC, and Michelle Fuller (Alan) of Ellerbe, NC; brothers, Danny Gathings (Kim) of Ellerbe, NC, and Ronnie Blackmon (Joyce) of Memphis, TN; a sister, Lisa G. Smith of Ellerbe, NC; grandchildren, Tyler Graves (Jessica), and Kylie Rainwater; a great-granddaughter, Jayda Graves; and eleven nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Faith Fellowship Church in Wallace.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. just prior to the service at the church.

Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Gathings family in their time of grief.
