Nancy Creech Hildreth

Mrs. Nancy Creech Hildreth passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Nancy was born on February 11, 1947, to the late Ebenezer and Ethel Parnell Steen. Nancy enjoyed attending services at Lower Macedonia Baptist Church when she was able. Nancy’s favorite time of year was Christmas. Her passion for Christmas decorations was unparalleled, earning herself and her home the endearing nicknames “The Christmas Lady” and "The Christmas House" for over four decades. Nancy cherished the time she spent with her family, frequently going out to eat at her favorite restaurant, The Mayflower. She looked forward to their family vacations every year. During her leisure moments, Nancy delighted in activities such as shopping, exploring yard sales, and engaging in lively board games like Yahtzee and Rummy. However, above all else, Nancy's greatest joy derived from spending time with her grandchildren. She leaves behind cherished memories with them and all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ebenezer “Eb” and Ethel Parnell Steen; her husband, George “Jiggs” Hildreth; her brothers, Charlie “Bo” Goings, William “Bill” Steen; her sisters, Vivian Steen, Peggy Hodge, Mary “Sue” Johnson, Mary Francis Quick, and Rosa Mae Caulder; grandson, Thomas Creech; and her lifelong friend Katie Chapman. 

Nancy is survived by her children, Jackie Creech (Melanie) of Brevard, NC, Timmy Creech of Chesterfield, SC, Tammy Douglass (Ken) of Cheraw, SC, and Candice Creech (Sammy) of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Garrett) Webster, Cheyenne (CJ) Cummings, Natalia Creech, Brittany (Addison) Hatcher, RJ (Emory) Previtte, Cindy (Reese) Creech, Boog (Danielle) Creech, Jordan (Courtney) Creech, Tyler (Allyson) Creech, Crystal Ward, Ashley Creech, Tessa Creech, Timothy “Beau” Creech, and Hannah Creech; great-grandchildren, Jackson Creech, Savannah Creech, Braxton Waddell, Lucas James, Cooper Creech, and Laiken Creech; sister-in-law, Edith Goings of Bennettsville, SC; children of the heart, Sandra and James Garlington; special friends, Goldie and Billy VanDerpoel; several nieces and nephews and a future great-granddaughter, whom she was patiently awaiting her arrival in September, Willow James.

A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 4, 2024, in the Chapel of Kiser Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Church Cemetery.

 The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 PM Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
