Roger Owens

Roger Alan Owens, 62, died Saturday, September 17, 2016. Born in Greenville, SC he was a son of the late Dr. P.W Owens and Virginia Fromm Owens. He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Cheraw, SC. Roger had been a member of the Cheraw Rescue Squad since 1969, serving as Chief for 12 years before retiring. He had served on the board of directors of the South Carolina Association of Rescue Squads. (SCARS)  He also was on the board of directors and assistant chief of the Cash Fire Department.

He is survived by his brother, Dr. Bill (Suzanne) Owens, nephews, Robert Owens, Ryan Owens, and an aunt, Joyce Jansen all of Cheraw, SC.

The family will receive friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, September 19, 2016 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.
