Roger Oxendine, Sr., 68, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Born in Laurinburg, NC, he was the son of the late Furmon Oxendine and Thelma Margaret Oxendine. Roger dedicated over 30 years to Highland Industries, formerly Burlington Industries, where he worked tirelessly as a warehouse foreman.
In addition to his professional career, Roger had a passion for carpentry and enjoyed tinkering with Mopar cars, particularly Roadrunners. He loved attending car shows and had a special admiration for Harley Davidson motorcycles. An artist at heart, he loved to draw and found joy in listening to music, especially country songs.
Roger is survived by his two sons, Roger Oxendine, Jr. and Bryan Chapman, both of Society Hill, SC. He leaves behind his brothers, Thurman (Myrtle-Ann) Oxendine of Laurinburg, NC and Chris (Debra) Oxendine of Maxton, NC, as well as his sister, Sue (Paul) Koeing of Parkton, NC, and sister-in-law, Rhonda (Theodore) Lindsey of Cheraw, SC. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Alyssa Chapman, Journey Chapman, Talon Oxendine, Ronald Hyde, and Ian Palmatier; great-grandchildren, Alaya Hyde, Hayden Palmatier, Axle Brigman, and Atlas Walters; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Debra Ann Oxendine; his brothers, Robert Locklear, William Ray Oxendine and Michael Oxendine; his daughter-in-law, Josette Winslow Oxendine; and his sister-in-law Carol Purvis and her husband, Bobby Purvis.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kiser Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Welsh Neck Baptist Church in Society Hill, SC, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Roger will be fondly remembered for his dedication to family, love of life, and the joy he brought to those around him.
