Ronald "Ron" Joseph Buffington

Obituary is in honor of Ron Buffington and his family. Blakely Funeral Home is serving the Buffington family.

 Gaffney, SC - - Ronald “Ron” Joseph Buffington, 73, of 301 Pleasant Meadows, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at his home.

  Born in Griffin, GA, he was the loving husband of Catrenna Lewis Buffington for over 43 years and the son of Arthur Joel Buffington of Milner, GA and the late Mattie V. Stephens Buffington. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and was retired from Dixie Pipeline. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, riding go carts and one of his greatest attributes was sharing his faith. Mr. Buffington was a member of Kirby Church.

  In addition to his wife and father, also surviving are two daughters, Shellie Leary (John) of Gaffney and Kayla Buffington of Cayce; a twin brother, Donald Buffington (Kathy) of Milner, GA; three grandchildren, Noah Leary, Ady Leary and Brantley Baldwin; and several nieces and nephews.  

  The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Kirby Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00PM at the church with Reverend Will Vergara and Reverend Doug Reava officiating. Interment will be held 1:00PM Thursday, August 4, 2022 in Bush River Memorial Gardens, Columbia.

  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Kirby Church, 512 Chandler Drive, Gaffney, SC, 29340.

  The family will be at the home of John and Shellie Leary, 1305 W. Rutledge Avenue.
