Ruth Ragan Dove, 80, died Thursday, January 21, 2021. Born in Lillington, NC and raised in Rockfish, NC, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Blanche Ragan. She was the widow of Lorenze “Buie” Dove. She was a member of Morven Baptist Church. In her high school days she was an all-state basketball player at 71st High School in Fayetteville, NC. Mrs. Dove enjoyed watching football, basketball and NASCAR racing. She loved helping others and taking care of children. She was a retired daycare owner. (35 years) (It was said that she raised half of her community.) She was very proud when one of her “little ones” would grow-up and be successful in life. She felt that a positive start helped ensure their achievements. Ruth loved life and never met a stranger.
Surviving is her son, Paul (Gail) Dove of Lilesville, NC, daughters, Lisa (Tim) Adair of Cheraw, SC, Phyllis (Bain) Cameron of South Hill, VA, grandchildren, Austin (Hannah), Ragan, Elizabeth, Matthew, Timothy, great grandchildren, Madelynn, Addison, Mason, sisters, Joyce (Joe) Martin of Greenville, NC, Vivian Rogers of Kenly, NC, a sister of the heart, Ethel Eckenstein and daughter of the heart, Kate McBride, and a special friend, Durand Pressley of Cheraw, SC.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above, also, a sister, Wanda McMillan and a brother-in-law, Charles Rogers.
A graveside memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 24, 2021 in Old St. David’s Cemetery, Cheraw, SC.
Mrs. Dove will be in repose 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC

Mrs. Dove’s service will be streamed live on Kiser Funeral Home's Facebook Page. If you are attending the service, please adhere to the COVID precautions suggested by local health officials. The family appreciates your love and willingness to reach out to them, but due to Covid, the family will not be receiving visitors at the home.
