Ruth 'Sis' Funderburk

Ruth Kinsey Duvall ‘Sis’ Funderburk was born November 12, 1912 and her suffering ended July 14, 2019. She was born in Cheraw, SC and is survived by her daughter Mrs. Claywell Funderburk Allen Watson, granddaughter, Mrs. Claywell F. Allen Butler of Donalds, SC and grandson Johnnie Burns Allen, Jr. of Cheraw, SC.

She was the daughter of Ruth Kinsey and William Evans Duvall, Sr. wife of Marshall Stewart ‘Bish’ Funderburk, Sr. and mother of Dr. Marshall Stewart Funderburk, Jr.. She attended Flora McDonald and Salem Colleges. Retired from Delta Finishing/J.P Stevens.

Many were touched by her special gift of being a devoted friend and in return blessed by the kindness of many, especially Mrs. Salley Schumpert Bradford of Burlington, NC, Mrs. Jane Covington of Orangeburg, SC, Mrs. Barbara Babb of Cheraw, SC, Mrs. Wanda Sartor, Cheraw,  Mrs. Mary McQuage of Cheraw and Mrs. Renie Baker Seel of Cheraw.

She requested in lieu of flowers donations of remembrance be made to: Greenwood Co.
