Sallie Mae Lyles Guthrie Pierce, 76, died Saturday, August 30, 2014. Born in Cheraw, SC she was the daughter of the late James and Katy Belle Russell Lyles.             She loved her Lord and Savior and reading her bible. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all of her family very much. Mrs. Pierce was known as “Gigi” by her grand’s and all that were close to her. She enjoyed animals and taking care of them. She had a servant’s heart and volunteered at several hospitals taking care of others in need.

Surviving are her step son, Bobby Brigman, Jr. of Rockingham, NC, daughters Sharon (Ervin) Burris of Columbia, SC, Katy (James Dunson) Guthrie of Rockingham, NC, Diane (Ricky) Elders of Patrick, SC, step daughter Sonja Reaves Miller of Patrick, SC, a daughter in law, Barbara Guthrie of Columbia, SC and a sister Alma Clark of Fayetteville, NC. Also nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents listed above and a son, Freddie Guthrie, Jr. of Columbia, SC, brothers Ray Lyles, James Lyles, Jarret Lyles, Johnny Russell, sisters Audrey Robbins, Annlee Gray, and Ruby Reaves all of Cheraw, SC.

A graveside service will be held 4PM Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the home of Diane and Ricky Elders in Patrick, SC.
