Sandra Dell Little Mullen, 76, of Raleigh passed on Saturday, June 25, 2016.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 29 at First Presbyterian Church, 300 Market Street, Cheraw, SC with visitation at 1 PM in the parlor followed by the funeral service at 2 PM in the sanctuary. A private committal service will be held at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Mullen was born on December 20, 1939 in Bennettsville, SC to the late George “Pete” Thomas Little and Mason Ingram Little. She was a graduate of Cheraw High School where she was the head drum majorette and participated in many extracurricular activities including the National Honor Society and the Speech and Debate Club where she won state championship in debating. Sandra earned a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from Winthrop College and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She taught high school home economics and business in her earlier years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who had a zest for life. She loved cooking, entertaining, and spending time with her family. Her loved ones will miss her spunkiness and spirit for fun and her grandchildren will miss their “Grandma San San”. She lived life with laughter, love and courage.
Survivors include her sister Dr. Delilah Little (William) Turpin of Raleigh, NC; daughter Lynn Mullen (Randy) Stephenson of Pittsboro, NC; son Michael David Mullen of Surprise, AZ; grandchildren Nathan and Marissa Stephenson; a nephew Dr. George Bradley (Kathleen) Turpin, and great-nephews Joshua and Isaac Turpin of Austin, TX.
