Sarah J. Hatchell, 97, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Born in Cheraw, SC, she was a daughter of the late Joe Harding and Willie Mae McCall Harding. She was the widow of James Leon Hatchell. She was a member of Cash Baptist Church and also attended Calvary Baptist Church. Ms. Hatchell was skilled at upholstery and painting. She enjoyed babysitting and loved to cook for her family and friends.

Surviving is her son Joseph L. (Delilah) Hatchell of Cheraw, SC, a daughter in law, Betty Hatchell of Cheraw, SC, grandchildren, Joseph Eric (Carolyn) Hatchell Sr., James Darrell (Tammie) Hatchell, Robert Dean (Tracy) Hatchell, Shannon Catherine Hatchell, Joshua Robert (Crystal) Hatchell, great-grandchildren, Joseph Eric (Diedre) Hatchell Jr., Corbin Steffan (Ashley) Hatchell, Christie Nicole Hatchell, Catherine Hatchell (Jamie) Caulder, Justice Chase (Michelle) Hatchell, Hunter Chance Hatchell, Paxton Chel Hatchell, Joshua David Brigman, Savannah Grace Hatchell, Brayden Lee Hatchell, Avaya Lynn Hatchell, and great-great-grandchildren, Kinsey Ryann Hatchell, Joseph “Joey” Eric Hatchell III, Kodak Reece Hatchell, Remington Brooks Hatchell, Noah Bumgarner, Jenna Bumgarner, Micah Bumgarner, Ivy Leighann Payne, Grace Hatchell, Charlotte Hatchell, Everleigh Rose Jacobs, Danica Caulder, Jaxson Caulder.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above, a son, John Robert “Bobby” Hatchell, brothers, Robert Harding, John Harding, Jimmy Harding, sisters, Ruth Pierce and Betty Lou Roach, a great-great grandson James Darrell Hatchell Jr.

A graveside service will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends shortly before the service.
