LaGrange, GA

Mrs. Sylvia Maria Allen Ludlow of LaGrange, GA passed away October 20, 2023. She was born on August 21st, 1944 in Atlanta, GA to the late James Edmund Allen and Evelyn Willis Price.

Sylvia was a graduate of Sylvan Hills High School class of 1962. Sylvia married Paul T. Ludlow Sr. on March 16th, 1963. Sylvia and Paul divorced in 2002, but remained friends. Sylvia spent most of her life in metro Atlanta besides the years she spent in South Carolina. Sylvia lived in Cheraw, SC where her children were raised. After her children were grown, she lived in Easley, SC for about 10 years. She then moved back to Georgia in 2011 and resided in McDonough until she moved to LaGrange in 2019. Sylvia was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. She also enjoyed working with stained glass and created many beautiful pieces for her family. Sylvia loved animals. She had many dogs over the years that always kept a special place in her heart.

Sylvia enjoyed spending time with her family. She always looked forward to the Allen, Lassiter, and Ludlow get togethers that were held over the years. She also took great pride in being a grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her sister, Gail Lassiter.

Survivors include her two sons Tim Ludlow of Lagrange, GA and Scott Ludlow and his fiancé Lorretta of Cheraw, SC. Her brother Eddie Allen and his wife Lynn of Hampton, GA. Her grandchildren Cassidy Beavers and her husband Taylor of Lynn Haven, FL, Nicholas Ludlow and his wife Kaitlin whom reside in the Netherlands, and Garrett Ludlow of Cheraw, SC. Her great grandchildren Caroline, Carter, and baby boy Ludlow who is due in December. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Sylvia will be laid to rest at West View Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. The graveside funeral service will be held at West View Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 3:00 PM.
