Wilbur Junior Hall

Mr. Wilbur Junior Hall, a cherished member of the Cheraw community, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on September 6, 1933, in Cheraw, South Carolina, he was the son of the late William Tyson and Roxie Anne Turner Hall. 
 
 Having worked as a skilled bodywork specialist and truck driver, Wilbur displayed unwavering dedication and passion in his profession. Yet, beyond his career, he was an active member of the Cheraw community. As a founding member of the Midway Baptist Church, he played a foundational role in its establishment and remained committed to his faith throughout his life. He was also a dedicated member of the Cheraw Masonic Lodge #15, where he found camaraderie and shared values.
 
 In his leisure time, Poppy, as he was affectionately known, indulged in woodworking and furniture making, showcasing his creativity and craftsmanship. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it be riding his bike or embarking on camping adventures that allowed him to connect with nature.
 
 A man of integrity and warmth, Wilbur touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, hard work, and community spirit will be remembered for generations to come.

Along with his parents, listed above, Wilbur was preceded in death by his sisters, Dezzie Caulder and Bernice Morris; and brother-in-law’s, Charlie Caulder and Harold Morris.

Mr. Hall leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 69 years, Marguerite Dixon Hall; a son, Wendell Hall (Susan) of Cheraw, SC; daughters, Adelia Hall of Cheraw, SC, and Donna Wilkes (Mitch) of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Scottie Hall (Brandis), Andy Hall (Mary-Melissa), Lance Walls, and Chad Wilkes (Joy); and ten great-grandchildren.
 
 A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Midway Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Old Saint David’s Cemetery in Cheraw, SC.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Kiser Funeral Home.

Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Hall Family in their time of grief.
