William Bennett Byrd, 72, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Born in Lumberton, NC he was a son of the late William Burgess and Pauline Barnes Byrd. He was a Disabled Veteran of the US Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening.

Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Patricia Ann Craven Byrd of Wallace, SC, daughters, Connie Byrd Cooper of Chesterfield, SC, Holly Byrd Copeland of Cheraw, SC. grandchildren, Sarah Cooper Kennedy, Timmy Ray “T.J.” Knight, Alex Hunter Knight, Reese Segars, Drew Copeland, great grandchildren, Gavin Cooper Kennedy and Lillie Ray Kennedy, also a brother, James “Buddy” Oliver Byrd of Asheboro, NC.

The family will receive friends 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. Burial with military honors will be in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, SC.
