Wilson “June Bug” Melton, Jr, 68, died Sunday, May 5, 2019. He was a son of the late Wilson Melton Sr. and Ruthalee Turner Melton.  He was a US Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War, receiving a purple heart for his actions there. He was a retired truck driver with 30 years of service. He had a giving heart, loved Clemson football, traveling and adored his pet dog Bella.

Surviving is his son, James Daniel (Joey Hawkins) Cagle of Gastonia, NC, daughters, Jennifer (James White) Leslie Melton of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jessica (Jamie) Freeman of Westville, SC, a brother, Larry (Teresa) Smith of Chesterfield, SC, sisters, Tammy (Brad) Starnes of Dandridge, TN, Lizzie Ann Melton, Lisa Smith, Carolyn Rivers, Kay (Don) Simmons all of Chesterfield, SC, grandchildren, Alanna Wilson, Alton Wilson, Ross Freeman, Elizabeth Freeman, great grandchild, Jordan Hammonds.

The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery, Chesterfield, SC.
